Magali obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Special Distinction (Political Science and Sociology) in 1992. In 1995, she obtained a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B.) from the University of the West Indies, and, in 1997, she obtained the Legal Education Certificate from the Norman Manley Law School in Jamaica, and was awarded the Belize Bar Association Prize for most outstanding Belizean student (1997). She was elevated to the rank of Senior Counsel in January, 2014.

Magali worked at the law firm of Barrow & Williams from 1997 to 2008, where she garnered experience in both commercial practice and litigation. She founded Magali Marin Young & Co. in 2008, and since then she has continued to assist commercial clients in real estate development and commerce. On November 16, 2020, she was appointed the Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs of Belize.
